LT:

Most companies have already stated they won't buy Win98, they're more interested in WinNT. Win98 is more of a consumer product, consumers are a very small % of the PC buyers.

Regarding the P/E, look at the P/E for the symbol WCOM.

Lucretius,
I have been putting away the money for a new machine for about a year now. I will have enough by the end of the month for one of the new Dell 400mhz models. The delay of Windows98 will not stop or delay the purchase of my computer in the least. Windows95 will drive the computer just fine, and it will operate any software I plan to use.

There is a certificate for a free upgrade to Windows98 when it comes out. I figure when it does, I'll send it in. I'm in no rush. As a matter of fact, I am cautious about upgrading system software just because of the problems it can cause.

If what you suggest happens to MSFT and investors rush to the exits to get out of Dell, then the entire tech sector is in big trouble as well.

I think the impending lawsuit against MSFT is already in the stock price, the high on MSFT was 99 1/8, now MSFT is selling at a discount at about 83 3/4.

Re: If Win '98 is pushed back indefinately, the PC co's will sell off

I can't believe you do this for a living. That is nonsense. People would scrap W95 in favor of NT. It's a win-win for uSoft. Have you ever considered swan dives off building tops? I've never heard anyone as doom and gloom as you, AND so incredibly wrong to boot.
