I don't think I've seen Earthquake. I suppose I've been through enough of them not to be curious, and The Big One is still coming anyway. Besides, that Sylmar quake in the early '70s was scary enough. Threw me right out of my bed. Some friends had the water tossed out of their swimming pool, and right through the sliding glass door. Would have cut you to ribbons if you had been in its path.

I had some neighbors who moved here from the east coast, and I had to explain to them that it was unwise to put heavy objects high up on bookshelves. Nothing like having flower pots and stone bookends flying at your head.
