Jim, It seems to me that Ellison avoided comparing Oracle to IBM DB2 and seemed to be talking about a strategy that avoids IBM's strengths (DB2 high end corporate market). Hitachi strategy also seems to be designed to minimize competition with IBM in the mainframe area. Perhaps today's performance by IBM and DELL have me irrationally exuberant. >VBG< Scott

JR,

HDS seems not to be doing much in Asia. Amdahl is still active,
especially with the merge back into the Fujitsu folds, which
should make them more attractive to buyers. But when it comes
to mainframes, we all know who's the leader by a far margin.
