IBM aids China's Internet development - faster super-server DB2000

George , noticed IBM will be setting up IP servers in China which should present a opportunity for Global Services use of the NC .

IBM added faster data base methods for the G5 super-server to be announced Monday 5/11/98 stating :

" The software will serve as the backbone for several new software packages announced last week in conjunction with IBM's launch of its latest mainframe line, the S/390 G5, said Janet Perna, general manager of data management at IBM's Software Solutions division.

Perna said enhancements in the new DB2 version will include improvements in business intelligence tasks like data mining, faster online-transaction performance, and changes aimed to boost performance of enterprise packages from software companies..."
