Dave, I guess I wasn't too clear on my reasoning. I know that CUBE does not make a PCMCIA MPEG-2 card. However, because of the small form factor and power limitations, Margi's card (and other similar cards) probably have to use a single-chip DVD decoder. Margi could conceivably use Zoran's chip, but there would be no need for Zoran's PCI-bus interface.

CUBE's ZiVA is the most likely candidate, but not the only one. Here are the specs on Margi's PCMCIA DVD card. Note the 1.5 watt power consumption. Maybe we could compare the other specs with ZiVA...

I don't think that you got a very solid answer on your question on the Dell board last week about whose decoder is in the Dell Inspiron.

Do you think it's likely that ZiVA-PC is the one?
