Some posts on Yahoo this morning talking about announcement Monday.

One poster expects a deal announcement with HP on Monday. Another poster says the rumors are flying in Idaho. Well, putting these two rumors together, we can surmise the following:

It appears that a deal between HP and Jabil for their plant in Boise, Idaho is in the works. Some expect an announcement Monday. I understand this plant mostly makes Laserjet printers, and that HP also has a European operation that also makes Laserjets. If Jabil gets the Laserjet biz, this would be a significant spike to revenues, because this is a huge business for HP. It probably is as big as the recent inkjet business outsourced to SCI and Solectron, and that business was at least $700M a year. It will be interesting to see what the terms of the deals are.

Hmmm, these are interesting times.

Paul

I bought 200 JBL at 40 before last earnings announcement and then bought June 35 and june 40 calls when the stock was $32. I sold some of the calls too early.

When I like a company in an industry, I also analyze other companies at that same industry. Now, I have a favor to ask everyone.

IS FLEXTRONICS(FLEXF) IN THE SAME INDUSTRY AS JBL?

Last quater revenue went up 92%, which is also higher than its prior quarter and this time, a bit higher than that of JBL. So, its estimated yearly sales, in my opinion, should jump to over 1 bil. I also have calculated its estimated PEs, based on estimated earnings this year and next year that I obtained from Yahoo Finance (Research) site. FLEXF thread is very quiet - so if anyone knows about this company, can you visit the thread? By the way, I'm a foreigner: Is "THREAD" the right term here?

I thank you all for your JBL posts, I visit this thread at least once a day.

Hi Rosemary, I enjoy your posts!
