Bill,

re: I checked the site about 5 times at various intervals yesterday, and another 5 at various intervals today

I think you have hit the nail on the head. The available, non- available beta software and web site adds up to a wonderful marketing opportunity. I can see the Press Release now:

CASHCO ANNOUNCES AVAILBILTY OF YEAR 2000 SOFTWARE FOR PC's. A spokesmen for the CASHCO indicated today that a beta version of their Y2K software for PC's is available from their web site. "Our site has been fully operational for only a few hours but our counter says that we have had over 10000 hit on the site, so far" A company official was quoted as saying: "We are extremely pleased with the response to our newest Y2K offering. We are overwhelmed and wondering if this might be a record for site hits, considering that the site became fully operational on {insert future date}"

Regards

Tom

Bill you make a good point. There are several definitions of qualified as you point out. All on this thread and the Yahoo thread are qualified to make investment decisions. That is one use of the word. Some are qualified to make estimates of CSHK costs per unit. Others are qualified to estimate CSHK revenues per unit. We all are qualified to subtract the two for the estimated profit per unit. People like Ted,Internet FX and others on the two threads are qualified to tell us if it works or not. All but Ted has told us what it does and that it works. While you make a good argument for knowing if it returns the correct results or not I am not too concerned about that because as soon as you go to the URL or URL's called out by the database to find your patches you will find out if it gave you wrong answers or not. It does not take a rocket scientist to do that. In fact, now that I think about it this testing is not that big a deal at all. Anyone can do that. To do a comprehensive job of it though you would need several machines to try it on. One with win3.x, one with win95 and one with win 98 build xx. I have two of them covered. Who can cover win 98? I think we are all QUALIFIED for testing.

The guy or woman I want to talk to is the one who can estimate how many units could be sold. Who out there is qualified to be our HOW MANY UNITS QUALIFIED ONE.
