Dearest Mark.
From my understanding, it is not so much the rebellion of Adam and Eve we are accountable for, but the nature in us that came from that act. Do people that are born to parents with a genetic disease deserve it? People have demonstrated a strong drawing to destruction and that is the nature I believe we innocently inherited from the original couple. I here so much how can they do such evil? It is called in the Bible a corruptable seed. It is corruptable because it leans toward destruction and physically will perish. This is where Messiah Yeshua overcame the World in His own words. His love and righteousness serve to cover our nature and assist us in overcoming destruction. The term choose life is used often in the Bible and for me that is a bottom line statement. Choose life, choose Yeshua the way to life, wisdom, and love. No matter how much we try to be good we will stumble based on Gods standards. I think love is often misunderstood and impossible to really accomplish without the wisdom and Spirit of God (Yeshua)
Have a GREAT weekend,
Nancy

"ONe thing I have never understood, is why I have to carry the weight of Adam and Eve around with me. I cant believe that any of us should be punished for what someone suppsedly did, millions of years ago. Isn't there a statue of limitations?"

Yes there is! Jesus! He took the curse of Adam upon Himself and put an end to the enmity between God and man. Through faith in Jesus, man is reconciled to God just as the criminal is reconciled to society through the Statute of Limitation. The spirit of the statute is found in Christ.

The ways of God are not the ways of man. The justice of God is not the justice of man. It seems unfair that He should put the sin of Adam on all men, but it seems equally unfair that He should give us the righteousness of Jesus through faith.

You also said; "One thing I have never understood, is why I have to carry the weight of Adam and Eve around with me."
The weight of Adam produces sin and death. Because of Adam's nature in us, we soon experience the reality of sin, darkness and death in our own lives. Although we cannot fully understand why we 'have to carry Adam's weight of sin', we do know the reality and darkness of carrying it. Jesus destroyed the weight of Adam's sin by taking it upon himself. The accumulated weight and darkness of all mens sins weighed heavily on Jesus' heart as He hung on the cross. The moment the full reality of that weight of sin came upon Him, Jesus was separated from God the Father for the first time in all eternity. The pain and agony of that weight of separation caused Jesus to cry out: My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me.

"One thing I have never understood, is why I have to carry the weight of Adam and Eve around with me." You do not have to carry that weight! You carry it because you refuse to let Jesus carry it for you. Why don't you take full advantage of God's Statute of Limitation and dump your weight of your sins on Jesus?

May Jesus lift your load of sin and guilt and free you from your weight.

Love

Emile
