I went German for precisely the same reasons. Although you may point out every known flaw in the GP, this will have no effect on Marshall since he's already made his decision. The car could be falling apart at the welds, but he will recommend them to anybody who will listen. He will tell them how wonderful next year's model is going to be and not to worry about the current set of systemic problems. He will be shocked when they stop production due to a lack of sales. Should the model only run on a special formula of bio-fossil fuel from a select chain of GM sanctioned distributors, that would be OK with him since the unit also has a built in toaster. The ability to simultaneously toast triangular-shaped bread and drive would overcome this refueling restriction.

No rattles or squeaks yet and it's as quiet inside as almost any luxury car on the highway except one can hear the tires when they're running over large cracks - understandable due to the performance suspension.

While I'll examine the other things you mentioned I'm not too worried - 3 year bumper-bumper warranty with a free rental car provided if any repair can not be completed same-day.

So what did you buy - one of those Accuras? I know of three people who bought them for their wives. It doesn't take much of a fender-bender to ruin the non-rebuildable transmission - it must be totally replaced as a $7,500 part + R&R labor. Turns out they're full of little plastic levers and gizmos that tend to crack upon even minor temporary torsion to the mounts.
