Bobby: the question of what gold stocks will do when the market tanks is of vital importance.

My take -- depends on how high gold is by that time and why stocks tank. The higher gold has gone, the more vulnerable it will be.

A stock market crash because of fears that AG might tighten aggressively would undoubtedly be bearish for POG as well. But a crash because of a plunging dollar, year 2000 fears, middle eastern war, etc probably would send gold soaring even as the Dow plunged.

Bobby: gold stocks holding up well with bullion down another buck this morning and silver getting smashed.

The stock market seems to have reached a stage where it must continue surging or come down hard and fast. Once upward momentum flares out a lot of money will be looking to exit in a hurry.
