Funk...
agreed that #daytraders is a useful sight for those interested in active, volatile stocks.

Yet, it as well as anything else, must be taken with a grain of salt, filtered for misrepresentations, hype and manipulation.

As for citing an example of news stories that have helped me make money, i would say I cumulative use all data coming into my nogin to make decisiosn, quotes, news, day of the week, time, daytrader, etc. from any and all sources.

At times, I like what I hear about a company, like what I hear a CEO say, like the confidence of the CEO and feel that other mmanagers out there will too. Now they might be geting into the stock for 1/2 year, me 1/2 hour....depends.

Funk..happy mothers' day! My wife made a great, great brunch today. Me, I cut the bagels.

Regards,
Steve@yamner.com

Maybe I'll have to capitulate. (c :

UCMP

MM is asked by callers about specific company's. The analyst or MM's
or whoever he was, said is was a good "buy". Within seconds it went
up over one dollar.

DATE CLOSING PRICE OPEN HIGH LOW VOLUME

just take a look at the chart, you'll see for yourself.

And this happens MANY times!!

Funk,

I'll jump in. A few weeks back some fund mgr. or analyst was talking about the internet craze. He mentioned a stock, MECK (Mecklomedia) that he said "is actually making money". The stock normally trades about 50K shares. It had traded like 16K that day. By the close it had traded 3.67 million shares and the price ran from 23 3/4 to 29 7/8. That's a serious moneymaking opportunity. Perhaps extreme.

Take a listen when they have their Taking Stock session. The other week the guest happened to mention SQNT in a positive light. It was good for an easy 1/4 in a few minutes. Obviously not all of them move.

On Friday the #daytraders channel went to a new server. I went to the new server and then did not pay attention to the channel the rest of the day. At the end of the day i went back and no one was there as they are usually. Did I miss someother change that was made? I went back this morning and found that I was the only one in the old channel. Would appreciate an update. I really enjoy the channel.
