Turnabout is fair play:
Two big players, BAY and COMS just aren't moving right now.
BAY from 35 1/4 on 2/27 to 21 3/16 on 4/17. That's a 40% drop in 40 trading days. (+/-) More new math, obviously. Oh, maybe that's not "right now."

I'm sure you are beginning to understand the ludicrous nature of your attacks...if you want to be a cynic, you can attack anything. And for what, prestige?

All the volume in the past two days has been on the upside. Today's $1 5/8 drop from the high was on remarkably low volume. Note the total volume for the day was 5.5MM, while over 3.5MM shares were bought as the stock went up. Friday's volume was 9.5MM and the stock closed at the high. If it didn't pull back on low volume, I'd be concerned.

Money flow was positive $70MM on Friday. Today it was negative $13.5MM. Big difference.

This is very normal. If the market corrects, Ascend might go as low as $40 and change. But that's it. We will see $50 before $40.

"And I would suspect, the big boys who aren't in yet, will be buyers on the downside higher than 40."
If by the big boys you mean guys like Cramer, he's already playing I'm sure because short squeezes and minute-by-minute movements are his specialty. Big money knows they can wait for the stock to come to them, that they won't get punished for missing 10% at this level.
So far the chart I can look up still has institutional ownership at 33%, same as 5/1/98. If the market is going to rise, then Ascend may as well be bought as Lucent. Those with big bux that are getting in at these levels will certainly be the first out the door on the first whif of a downdraft. Only if your basis began at 30 could you claim to be unconcerned about the volatility. Lately the stock has been reaching up to trigger buy stops, the path to least resistance. When that's dried up, it'll be dipping and dropping on the sell stops. Then the cycle begins all over again.
