Performance on the math portion of the SAT has actually improved over the years. They have not dumbed it down. On the other hand, the SAT verbal test has been rescaled as of 1995 in order to recenter the scale so that 500 is the 50 th percentile. However, the level of difficulty in the verbal test itself is probably the same.

I suspect that none of the people in the examples ever took the SAT and had no intention of ever going to college.

I was actually just making satirical remarks about the DOJ wrt to the MSFT and INTC matters. INTC and MSFT are hardly the tobacco companies.
