In FD 51 1/2, NMGC is not showing classic movement of an 'earnings play'.. So far volume is not indicative of a buy.. could change however. It reports tomorrow after the close. NSOL was a buy this afternoon. I noticed it trending up late this afternoon.. missed it!

VSAT a good long term portfolio hold. Looking for a "Satellite Stock" I was choosing between an old favorite GILTF:, a new favorite GMSTF and another cheaper one with more upside potential: VSAT. VSAT assigned multiple access d multiple access (DAMA), which enables subscribers to share bandwidth by doling it out as it is needed. The U.S. government helped with research and development and ordered more and more of ViaSat's products. Between 1986 and 1998, a period of massive government budget cuts, ViaSat's revenue grew at an annual compounded rate of 64%.

Government-related business, which still accounts for more than 85% ov ViaSat's revenue, continues to look good. The company recently announced multimillion-dollar contracts from the U.S. Air Force suppliers Tracor Enterprises and Lockheed Martin Aeronautical systems.

But commercial demand for ViaSat's bandwidth-enhancing technology is what could send the company's stock soaring.. Hutchinson Telecomm, for example, relies on ViaSat's signal processors to juggle calls in Asia. and Communication Network Systems uses ViaSat equipment to provide back-up wide area networks, which link together the far-flung offices of a business..."

Pacific Sunwear's First Quarter Earnings Rise 157 Percent; Also Announces Accelerated 1998 Expansion (beat by 3) (check BKE of the same exact sector should take off as well)

PSUN was on a strong upward trend before their report. All indicators were bullish with support at 40 and resistance at 44.50 I would watch it in the morning before market hours and see the trading range. I would buy it when it trades about 43 3/4. It has met resistance before about about 44 1/2 but this report will PROBABLY push the stock through resistance to break through 46, the 52 week high.

Watch List May 13, 1998: marketgems.com.
I'm still bullish on the 'earnings plays' watch list. The retail sector which I based a good deal of my 'earnings plays' on for this week have been doing well. I expect they will continue to perform well. Some of the weaker stocks like AMCN and CLE never came into "BUY" territory and that is the uniqueness of these plays. NMGC is another one that so far hasn't shown the price/volume breakout indicative of a genuine earnings play. I'll still watch NMGC tomorrow though.
