Thomas-

<<<<I've got rhythm.
I've got SGI
I've bet the homestead
And it's bet on SGI>>>>>

For the fourth line I believe "And now I want to cry" would be more appropriate for a lot of us. BTW Does Northeastern where you received your en-gen-neer degree have any connections with Texas A & M? No offense intended - but there does seem to be some similarity in the actions of the graduates. ":0)

I wouldn't expect much action in the stock until July. Server sales cycles average around 6 months, so the current slowness is a reflection of management uncertainty back in Nov/Dec of last year. On the graphics side, the new NT machines won't be introduced until 2nd half of '98 so I expect many customers to sit tight until then.

These are strictly my personal opinions. I don't know any more than publically available information, so you can take my comments with a grain of salt.

<when HP will by SGI>

If HP uses a stock swap deal, the could have bought 8 SGI's in the last month alone. The market never ceases to amaze me. HP has had flat revenues for a year, missing quarterly earnings estimates like clock work. Some analyst upgrades the stock, and wammo, up 30% in a month. Just think a 20 Billion market cap gain, because there is nothing left to buy.

As of today, I have completely liquidated everything except my core holdings on SGI. I'm sure DELL will double, MSFT will be worth a cool Trillion, and YHOO a 20 Billion company (on 10 Mil. in profits), before this thing sees 20, but I just can't justify buying the winners.

Information just released: aha!>>

quicken.com

Looks like Bo Ewald (Xpresident of Cray) has just quit SGI. Now I don't mean to get too hypothetical but.. let think why would Bo quit SGI??

IS it because SGI is planning to dump CRAY? Maybe!!

Well this was anticipated. But the aha goes to ---> After spinning MIPS and a possible divorce from CRAY.. SGI is now two step closer to get bought by HP..

Well so much for dreaming, and back to work...
