Mean estimate for the next quarter was $.29. We will definitely see some changes tomorrow.

>>Management expects to earn $.23 during the next quarter. <<

If this is what the management expected, then AMAT will be downgraded soon.

Before today's report, the Street is looking for $0.29~$0.30 for the next two quarters, now AMAt said $0.23 for the next quarter.

The analysts will cut this FY's estimate from $1.48 to at least $1.35; So is the number for the next year.

Jack-- Where did the .23 management estimate come from. I just reread the press release and didn't see any projections from management. Was the figure from the CC?

good investing -- fred

Jack,

Is the 0.23C (Q3 eps) due to 10% planned layoffs? Any mention in the CC as to why this low expectation. If this is the reason, downgrades by analysts may not happen.
