As hard as this may be to do, I'm going to make this my final post.
I already exited the Yahoo board the other night.

First, and perhaps most important, I want everyone to know that I still maintain my strong convictions on the unique technology the company developed for multiplexing voice & data over a single POTS line. Dr. Barker was absolutely correct in that CELP voice compression was the proper way to deal with transmitting voice in conjunction with data and anyone that is willing to take the time to test all the options out under real-world conditions will realize this in short order.

Second - I maintain that there has and will probably continue to be movement in this stock which is more related to people that could care less about the company and its technology than people that do. I've learned one hell of a lot about the SEC through this thing. I've heard SEC officers almost word for word say they don't give a shit about the little people or the little companies; they just don't have time for everything. My major complaint against them still stands - they knew and withheld information from the public about that Cygnet/W.S. Clearing fiasco for months before they let the shareholders of the company and the company itself know about it. I have written proof of this and I sincerely hope that the SEC will eventually enact some new rules to deter this open hole that allows abuse of the system.

Third - I still hold every share of this stock I could hold onto.
I learned a lot about margining a large position of one's portfolio in a high risk stock but sometimes a hard-head such as myself has to learn things the hard way. Am I actually out any money? Yes - but certainly not as much as many others are. Then again that's all relative to your net worth and you can't count anything as a gain or a loss unless you sell it. I'm quite amused at the price activity lately and I refuse to offer my opinions as to what may be going on. I understand one person tried to buy 10K shares all day and couldn't get his order filled - odd ??? I myself will continue to buy as I can, but of course only as part of a balanced portfolio. It's so simple - skipping a fancy night on the town for a close romantic dinner (and some special attention) at my girlfriend's house is easily worth 100 shares at this price and it turns out it's a lot more satisfying.
I firmly believe that sometime in the near future you'll understand why provided my (and others) recent research proves to be correct.

Fourth - As always my e-mail will remain open and I will of course respond to private SI messages as well as occasionally joining in with the "fun" banter in the clubhouse. I've always tried to maintain an "open door" policy throughout my 2+ years of being an SI member - I believe I've responded to every e-mail and called anyone that ever asked me to. I have tried to maintain the utmost honesty in my postings and you can't blame me on that count. I'll also admit that in the past I and others have fallen victim to more than one convincing rumor but when they arrive from many "apparently" unassociated sources they can be rather convincing. I commented on this a while back in the thread and have no other comment here except for the fact that you are better off listening only to reliable sources such as the company, it's resellers, its potential partners and its customers.

Fifth - I'll leave you with a few words from a friend who knows:

We don't care - we don't have to. We're the phone company.
Lilly Tomlin hometelco.com

SBC to buy AmeriTech? That gives them 1/3 of the phone lines in the U.S.
Don't be expecting any sort of inexpensive high-speed access options anytime soon.

"We have always told our young engineers we put the copper in and that's what they're going to have to deal with for some time to come. Economics do not allow any major overhauls to the infrastructure anywhere in the near future so you will be forced to utilize that existing copper to its best extent. In many cases it is cost-prohibitive to locate and remove the load coils we installed for the longer spans. It is also impractical to attempt to locate and rework every field crimp, accomodate the impedance mis-matches of the different wire gauges we've used or to guarantee service of anything above and beyond what this system was originally designed to carry.
Anonymous ....

You figure it out - and don't forget those tariffs.
