Michel,

1) I don't know a general way that Downloader will let you do what you want - but I only use it to manipulate MSWIN data when problems occur.

Because you're using StockWiz for data, I assume that you're using StockWizDOS or StockWiz98 to store that data. If so: Can't you modify the default .SAL script which you'd normally use to export in Metastock format so that it now manipulates the Ticker symbol ie. remove the exchange extension?). Maybe StockWiz can provide further guidance on their Bulletin Board. As you know, they're replying to posts again.

If you're using downloader on ASCII data directly, then why not write a simple PERL script to find the "=XX" and remove it. The hassle is that, as far as I know, Downloader can't be run in command line mode - so you can't write a batch file to automate the steps: (first preprocess ASCII file, then pass it to Downloader).

2) MS_scan: Do you mean the explorer? It is used to scan through a collection of stocks in directories that you define and look for stocks which satisfy criter that interest you (ie. MACD buy signal, Price within 15% of 52-week high, Volume > 40 day moving average of volume). See the MSWIN manual for more info.
