Greg, Just a comment: Observe Nature. For every action there is an equal reaction. A child that falls from a 10 story window is not being punished by God. The law of gravity is irreversible. Obey the laws of nature and apply it to your understanding of intolerance. If this is too deep than forgive me for interrupting.

Greg,
Hello friend

<<These questions bring up the problem of "where to draw the line", so to speak. Hatred seems universally unnecessary or destructive - if nothing else, it seems to be spiritually destructive for the person who hates. Intolerance, however, has become a grey area for me. Perhaps it is just too broad a term.>>

Great question! Yes, in a sense you are right, it is a very broad term
and a huge grey area as such. However, that may reflect more upon the failings of the written word(or at least the way I use it:-) ) than it does upon the philosophy.

As I have said before, I think that there are two pure emtions, love and fear. Clearly the behavioral examples you showed are not love basd examples of behavior. So, the answer is yes, we should try to change such behavior in a loving manner, the question is how?
