Gabriel,

Congratulations on that trade. If you (we) could only do that every week.... <g>

I suspect you are right. I hadn't known about the Right Line Split Report listing DELL, but suspect that may be part of it. Like you, I do not expect another split announcement until the additional shares get authorized. When they do, we will have enough for two more 2:1s.

If I were sure that we won't get a split announcement, I would seriously consider selling covered June calls next Monday. Remember last year when there was a long lead time between announcement and split? ... I don't believe that Michael would like to see the stock get to the point where the expectations are unattainable.

But, yes, the stock action also appears to me to be a combined function of good anticipated earnings and anticipated split announcement.

Regards, 3.

re split possibility

Gabriel,

Donnie did say that his broker told him that all of his Round Rock clients were converting all their liquid assets into DELL stock...

I know that is hearsay and unquantifiable. Still, maybe we will get a split announcement in conjunction with earnings.

Regards, 3.

Gabriel:
<<<< JBN3, just sold my May 90 CALLS at market [$6.625] for a nice little profit.>>>>
We seem to be following the same piper, have sold my may 80's
today and rolled them up or out to june 95's. I try to maintain the same quantity (in my case 5) short term calls on Dell when it is on the move. It provides a challenge to guess what Dell will do next
(gggg), but gets rather tense approaching Friday so am happy to have another 30 days to work with.
I happen to owe a great deal to all on the thread who discussed
options plays, just don't tell them how much(gggg)
This is risky business to provide a bit of excitement, whereas August calls are probably a more solid investment.
