George,

<<<I would appreciate any explanation of why a current customer would want to purchase Ancor switches under an NDA. >>>

I feel the same frustration like you do. I think companies wish to keep their FC road map as close to their chest as possible. It is not so much that they don't want others to know that Ancor's FC switches are used. It is their own new porduct line that they do not want to disclose for competitive reasons. We know FC industry is gaining momentum. Fierce competition will be in Servers, storage devices and of course switches, hubs, etc. It is the same reasons that Ancor may not want to disclose their business plan on if 4 port, 6 port, 8 port or 64 port or 2 gig or 4 gig switches will be available.
How modular is SUN's new SAN products will be? What FC products will HWP, CPQ, BULL, DG, IBM deliver? We have bits and pieces of information, not the final products and what they can do and how each of them compare up with each other.
