Brad, The FAQ from the Conversa web site indicates that their IE 4.0 compatible speech recognition browser will work with most links. They indicate some exceptions. Would these exceptions relate to the SI link technology? I guess the big question is would it recognize NEXT?conversa.com ( the site has been slow at times today) Zeuspaul From FAQ Q12: What links can I voice? A12: Convers Web utilizes a revolutionary speech recognition technology we call CASSI (Convers Advanced Symbolic Speech Interface). Combined with an effective one million word dictionary, Convers Web can understand most of the links it comes across. You simply say the links, as you would normally read them. Q13: Do I have to say the entire link for it to be recognized? A13: No. In many instances, you only need to say the first few words of a link. When Convers Web is certain of which link you are talking about, it will immediately take you there, without the need to finish the sentence. Q14: What about JPEG and GIF images, can I voice them too? A14: Yes. Convers Web inserts a special numbered saycon in the upper right corner of the image. To activate the image link, simply say "number" followed by the actual number. Q15: Are there any links that don't work well with voice? A15: There are a few. Some Java, Visual Basic, and CGI scripts that contain imbedded links will need to be selected via mouse instead of voice. Most all other links, whether text or image formats, will be voiceable. Q16: Which features of the browser are voice-enabled? A16: Any of the links can be spoken. In addition, image links can be activated by voice, simply by saying the number in the saycon. Also, any of the toolbar icons can be spoken, as well as commands for in-page navigation, like "scroll down".
