MTBE is all over the news here in Maine. It has shown up in very high concentrations in the groundwater in some areas and, get this, they can't locate the source!! What they are currently thinking is that it may come from a source a long distance away and travel horizontally for MANY MILES.

Of course, the news has stated that MTBE is a carcinogen and the people in the affected areas are up in arms.

Sounds like this has the potential to be a nationwide problem, and if there is a more environmentally friendly alternative it would be embraced with open arms....DF-144??
