My bet is that options expiration tomorrow is the culpritfor the recent drop. VLSI's contract with the Malaysian consortium is to operate a plant in the US, not in Malaysia. Motorola's good news shouldn't have hurt Eric. or vlsi as much as this, the market is big enough for both Mot and Eric. So I'm betting options manipulators, but we'll see on Monday. Only six more weeks to go in the 2nd Q, the last Q that mgt. said would have flatish earnings. The 3rd Q starts July 1, and analysts should have a pretty good picture of likely events for the 3rd Q by August 15th. I'm holding until then, at least. JEC
