Morning Thomas, I know for sure they are written by humans(could easily have been some women included among the writers) because I'm a student of history. Religion is just a part of humanity's journey thru the ages. Granted it was a major part at the time the so-called religious texts were written. Study the history of man(notice that half the human race, meaning females, had very little effect officially)--try to be objective. You should come to the conclusion that men, in the earliest centuries forced their beliefs(including religious ones) through their physical strength(women were busy doing unimportant things like giving birth at the time) on everyone else. They even had the audacity to suggest that one of themselves( a man) was the supreme being. How could it be otherwise;-) I would have been beheaded for voicing such heretical thoughts in Christ's time. Men always know better. When will I ever remember that???:o) Hope you don't hold any Hewlett Packard today<ggg> ann

My name isn't Ann but from from your post methinks the pot doth call the kettle black. Apparently you haven't checked too far either. Soteriology of the Judeau Christian religions contain no new gospel as is proclaimed. If you check history you will find it just a repeat of the previous numerous sons of God, born of virgins, and most of the teachings can be found in the "Oracles." Or does your history stop with Josephus and the Essenes? Try reading "The Egyptian Book of the Dead. You will find IUSA was a son of God thousands of years before Jesus. Get on the internet library and read of over 100 contradictions in the bible teachings. Starting with the book of Genesis theu the new testament. If that is God writing if it is then you accuse God of lying.No way can it even be inspired. Religions sprang from the dramas of ancient myth and Christianity is just a myth the Romans created as historical fact to control the Pharisees. There is plenty of Jewish history and Roman history and books preserved. Don't you think it strange you cannot trace any literature until aftr the second century?
