KJ,

<<It's impressive to me that Ancor does not need to see the units first before shipping. That means MSL is good in QA and configuring the units is not an issue, either customers can handle it easily or Ancor can do it remotely at ease.>>

Those were my thoughts exactly. Going in, I expected to see a BIG preparation/shipping department, where Ancor would check out the switch to make sure everything was okay, and then send it to the customer.

I don't recall the exact context, but one comment was made regarding the manufacturability of Ancor's switches. Evidently, they are fairly easy to make, and any of MSL's plants could turn them out in a pinch. KJ, you would be amazed at the simplicity of their design. Ed's Cat could probably assemble one. <g>

MSL is one of the most impressive manufacturing houses I've seen. The people who set it up (kevin Melia and Bob Graham) were responsible for Sun's Manufacturing and Operations, and they know what they want. We picked them at Brocade because of their background, many of their Silicon Valley Empolyees were ex Sun people.

BTW Bob Graham recently went to Adaptec (via Ridge Technologies) so he is deeply involved in Fibre Channel.
