You are wrong about almost everything in the post I am responding to, Terrence. First, America tacitly accepts dual citizenship now. I am sure my being a citizen of Waveland is not going to bother them, really. Citizenship as a concept is changing very rapidly anyway, and just wait until the New World Order takes hold!!!

Wow, I am already a citizen of America, Great Britain, Ireland, Waveland, and because of two of those, I can live and work anywhere in the European Community.

I'd better go get a great big briefcase to hold all of my passports!!!!! And my Waveland flag!!! And my blow-up dinghy, so I can visit there anytime I feel like it!!!

Please explain what motivates companies to care for the environment, except governmental regulation. Please explain particularly what motivates them besides the profit motive.

It is easy to call environmentalists Luddites, but it is a cheap shot, and quite inaccurate. If you believe that global warming is not real, and that our superior technology will always solve any problem we create, and you are wrong, then we have destroyed the planet. If people like me are wrong, there is really no harm done, and the earth will be a prettier and happier place, as well.

Terrence, Ayn Rand's ideology is parroted here just as much as any other way of looking at life and the universe. So you are a parrot!!! Say, I hear you are endangered. I hope a nice environmentalist comes along and saves you from being smuggled into America in a tennis ball container, wrapped in an old nylon. Did you know your chances of surviving that kind of importation are only about 30%? Or perhaps it was macaws I was reading about. In any event, cocaine smuggling rings from South America have taken up this graft as a sideline, since it is so profitable.

Now, in the interest of equal time, here is a nice Tracy Chapman song, from her 1995 album, New Beginning:

THE RAPE OF THE WORLD

Mother of us all
Place of our birth
How can we stand aside
And watch the rape of the wold

This the beginning of the end
This the most heinous of crimes
This the deadliest of sins
The greatest violation of all time
Mother of us all
Place of our birth
We all are witness
To the rape of the world

You've seen her stripped mined
You've heard of bombs exploded underground
You know the sun shines
Hotter than ever before
Mother of us all
Place of our birth
We all are witness
To the rape of the world

Some claim to have crowned her
A queen
With cities of concrete and steel
But there is no glory no honor
In what results
From the rape of the world
Mother of us all
Place of our birth
We all are witness
To the rape of the world

She has been clear-cut
She has been dumped on
She has been poisoned and beaten up
And we have been witness
To the rape of the world
Mother of us all
Place of our birth
How can we stand aside
And watch the rape of the world

If you look you'll see it with your own eyes
If you listen you will hear her cries
If you care you will stand and testify
And stop the rape of the world
Stop the rape of the world
Mother of us all
Mother of us all
Mother of us all
Mother of us all
