Maybe if they had included a few great women, Donald, their findings would be more believeable.

Sorry if my answers sound glib to you. I assure you I didn't arrive at these conclusions hastily.

Believing there is a God, without pretending he has given solid evdience of his existence, makes supreme logic to me. It's having faith without evidence.

Would you stop believing there is a God if it was unmistakingly proven that so-called divine words were actually written by human beings??

bye now, A

Don

The reason I now feel it is devisive to continue is a complete reflection of the tone that you have now taken with me. Obviously you are becoming angry and it is showing in your words. Threrfore, I am choosing to walk away from the subject. I have zero desire to create any anger or frustration within or for you. If you want to believe that my words have less credibility, that is fine. My ego is not wrapped up in being "proven right". I am not here to preach to anyone,
just to explore other peoples and my own opinions.

Yes,many great and not so great people have studied the bible over centuries, that is very true. that does not mean that I am not entitled to my own beliefs and thoughts. I am absolutely entitled to discover my own truths in my own fashion. If you find my answers easy and glib, so be it. to me, many of the answers are easy, and very simple. The truth often is.

To be honest, when you ask me if I come to seek truth or to confuse, my first reaction was to feel that you are getting frustrated because it is not your truth that I am discovering.
The reaity is that I agree with much of what you and what Christianity
has to say at its basic roots. I absolutely believe in love and compassion and helping your neighbor. I spend a great deal of my time doing just that. I do not take the bible literally, and do not believe in original sin and any kind of sacrifice. I have been very upfront and honest about that. I dont see where I am trying to confuse anyone.
My motivations are very clear, as are my intentions. I have been nothing but unfailingly polite, respectful, and upfront with everyone.

If my posting bother you, I will not address them to you. I wish no ill will. In fact, if my postings bother the majority of the people on this thread, I will refrain from posting on this thread. Fair enough?

Sincerely wishing you the best,

Mark
