David, more good news for the Dell bulls! Dell Delivers; HP Eats Crow

pathfinder.com

...Jim McDonnell, Hewlett-Packard's marketing boss for PCs, insisted in the cover story that his company can deliver a machine to a customer faster than Dell, even though HP ships through a reseller. He dared us to conduct a test."Try it," he said. "Buy a Dell. See how long it takes you to get one. I guarantee it will take at least a week. If it doesn't, I'llpay for it."

We did. It didn't. He owes us. .....

ALL: More on HWP's disappointment

go2net.newsalert.com

DELL stock price is retreating a bit here as a result of the fear that DELL have also been affected by the problems stated by CPQ and HWP as well as Packard Bell and IBM.

However, we know that DELL has already stated that it just is not that way. DELL is having a great quarter in all geographic segments.
So, any pull back can be viewed as a short term buying opportunity.
When the market realizes that DELL is not competing in the same channels as HWP, IBM, etc then this opportunity will quickly evaporate.
