Then why did you buy it now? This dog is making new lows every day and the bottom is still not in the sight yet, IMO. It will languish in the current level barring any major market correction. If major correction does happen, we'll see ADPT joining the camp with RDRT and APM in low tens or sub-tens. I'm watching closely on the sideline to pull the trigger, but not now.

Greetings all. Have been following for about a month, and started to create a position today by buying Jan 2000 20 LEAPs @ 4 3/4 (will add more over time, particularly if it drops down to under 15).

I expect a rebound into the 30s by this time next year as Symbios acquisition and adoption of Firewire [high margin business] make their presence felt.

We have not seen the bottom yet. See my previous posting,
but Adaptec has some market demand issues which Ultra2 products will not solve. I do not believe (and I work in this industry) that
SCSI has the same growth potential that it had a year ago. Its
getting hit hard on the low end with Universal Serial Bus (Windows
98 has sypport for USB) and
on the high end with Fibre Channel. Also their peripherials group
revenue has declined from $68M to $45M/qtr, and may go lower.

Additionally, Adaptec has yet to prove itself with its new
investments (over $350M invested in the last few years).

This thing will turn in the long run, but in the next 6 months,
its drifting down.

Regards,

Dougerdad
