I'm new to this board, so please forgive me if this post is repetitive. I'm long HWP and have a lot of respect for the company and its products. What is puzzling me (beyond belief) is how they can expect to disappoint Wall Street for eight straight quarters. I understand that it's difficult to arrive at precise numbers, but thousands of other companies manage to do so. I have negative feelings about some analysts, as well as many of you seem to have, but, let's face it - that's the way the game is played. What disturbs me (GREATLY) at this point, is when can HP ever expect another upgrade after shafting the axes again and again? It is just beyond comprehension and really makes me question management (which was one of the main reasons I bought in the first place.) I've owned the stock for several years and have a tidy profit, but this stuff is getting old. In other words, I'm angry, too!

Tom,

I don't disagree with you that there were forcastable issues with PCs in this past quarter.

But I'll point out again, that HWP acknowledged this problem when they announced LAST quarter's earnings. There was nothing really new, until the analysts started claiming otherwise and it demanded a response.

There's a difference between knowing that there is an issue (which HWP acknowledged) and knowing the actual number. HWP is simply not set up in such a way that I think anybody knows with much certainty what that number will be until fairly late in the game.
