Mr. John F. Dowd,

It appears you are hearing the same thing I am. Glad someone else knows this.

Thank you

JK

Microsoft Monopoly

RE: "If MSFT has you handcuffed there is always the alternative of another OS which to me has been superior all along."

OK! But how does that work?:
I call Dell, order a laptop, lets say. I ask for the model that comes with out a Microsoft operating system for a reduction in price, right? So then, I take the money I saved and order some other non-microsoft operating system from a reputable mail order house, right? Or, I ask Dell to set my new machine up with one of those other non-microsoft operating systems with the money I saved, right?

Is this what you mean?
