David,
Dell's P/E for the current year using 1.84 (consensus estimate-which has been low every time for...ever) is 51. Dell's growth rate is higher than that. That's how I justify it. Throw in their busines model and a dash of Michael Dell and it looks cheap.

Also when you use December 97 for comparison you are sort of "cooking the books" because Dell had just take a ~20% haircut from all that "asia crisis" hooplah.
