<<I predict a return to $28.50 before we see another major upward movement.>>

Well, any scenario is possible. Your scenario is your wish without
any evdience. I think it will stay within a narrow range for a while
before any big upward move. With conventional data, such as PE, SE,
etc., Apple is undervalued. With the volume of short holdings, Apple
is still a very speculative stock. You have mentioned Apple's
reasonable price should be near $38, which I agree. Analysts will
sooner or later recognize Apple's future earning power as well as the
high probability of growing revenues. Wait until more good news comes
in within a couple of months to see if the price could reach up to
$45.

David,

Barring a market tank or a hit on high-techs, I think we have seen the last of the 20's as of today. The MM's might pull it down to 29 3/4 or so before the close today, but I doubt it. The stock has had every opportunity to sell off since Tuesday and has not been able to do so. My 'guess' is that it will maintain an uptrend as it has done for the past quarter, probably right on thru October. There may be volatile dips from time-to-time, but the trendline remains intact. The stronger the close today, the stronger the upward momentum next week, IMHO.

Sam

P.S. I reestablished a trading position Wednesday and today with July 27 1/2 calls. If we get a quick runup, I may sell the Jun 35s against them to reduce costs.

Can we please leave all these weather forecasting off this board? Speculations based on analysis of investor psychology (resistance & support point)..etc are certainly very valuable to this thread but lately there has been too much wild predictions on how the stock will behave purely based on gut feelings.

Come on this is SI not Psychic Investor.

I'd buy at 28.5

That would follow the same pattern as the backside of the last two complete cycles.

However, on a timeline the bottom will be on Monday.

Due to the intense volatility today, it appears that the MMs will try to pin the stock to 30. I may not see my 29 1/8 buying opportunity.

David, I've read your posts and respect very much your TA.

Friday's close of 29 9/16, down 1/2, was higher by 7/16 than the close I expected. My prediction of 29 1/8 was due to options expiration and market malaise.

Monday is buying opportunity day, as the stock will most likely make another stab at 31 before the week is over.

Short sellers are still trying to take this stock back, so I expect more erosion Monday. 28 1/2 is quite possible if the stock opens falling and levels off around 29. It could easily spike to or below 28 1/2 intraday.

Anywhere between 28 1/2 and 29 on AAPL is a buy signal right now.

Of course if the market tanks, none of this matters. However, it appears to me that sellers are being selective. The market may slide without any panic selling.

JMHO,
HerbVic
