Let me be the second! This is probably the same buddy / broker that recommended BCMD. Go to that thread for more. Jane isn't an investor there either as I recall (;o)

Whew!

Gary

Dear posting person who is probably long in this, my friend who earned his first wings with Shearson -Lehman as a partner, then they all changed and were Dean Witter for years, have now joined the biggest boys at the top. I find that rather comforting.

That is the point. He pulled up VTPI and was audibly astounded that there was nothing. Period.

Hope it is as good as the hype, that's all. He couldn't see enough to look farther, that's all. All he did was, "Next?"

That was a bad sign to me, that what the hell I'm talking about.
They have the fastest and most comprehensive software on the market, instant and at his fingertips. In 20 seconds he was grossed out. Why? I don't know. He said forget it, there's nothing there yet but hype and bucket shop activity, probably. So, if he's wrong, you're going to make a fortune, I guess. But at any rate, what if the news does blip it up a few cents. That only helps day traders and crushes anyone who really believes this company is going anywhere. There needs to ber a separate thread on every single stock for day traders and longs. They cannot have the same goals, and that is apparent. For one to survive the other must take a hit, both ways. It is a whole different game, and it is all mixed up here and a lot of people are losing a lot of money, that's all I know.

Anywhere on SI if anyone vaguely mentions that a stock might go down, or has very little substantial behind it and is it solid enough to put your money into with all of the other good investments one could be making, and the traders come running out with flaming torches and pitchforks, as in medieval Europe. I think this is cyber American in the mid l998, no? And a place for discussion of such matters? And is such discussion not granted under the First Amendment?

Am I out of order suggesting that a serious broker could see nothing in this whatsoever to make one invest? Except rumors of rumors?

Don't get mad at me for asking questions, please, as I have absolutely no interest in anything but a stock that probably is going up and is going to do that for more than 45 minutes while I'm at work, before going back down to .0446. Or worse, I'm sure, has happened.

SI needs to be determined to be discussion of the pros and cons of investing in this particular company, selling at .0004, or $148 l/2, or simply a place where people invested create pleasant rumors for those coming in who believe them. This happened to me and hundreds of others. It is not cool..

If this is the pattern, this will simply become Scam City, rather than a place for people to invest wtihout having to pay the kind of money to guys like my friend who do exhaustive research to try and determine what will actually cause said stock to rise and stay there a few minutes. Shared information or simply shared hype that everyone should buy because we did. That's a difference of opinion, depending on whether you're in or out. And if you're in, well, of course you have a vested interest to get me in. If I'm out, I have a vested interest to stay out if I can't make money. And if it is truly a gold mine, there is a tendency to want others in on it, and to encourage them in typed statements.

AH. The key is to find which is which.

Would you not agree this is rather a realistic statement on chat thread psychology in a perfect world? Discussion of the stock on merits?

Agree 100% Vegas. As if the Big Boards don't have their own bad apples.. but then, the Big Boards, like doctors, bury their mistakes. They delist them to the Bulletin Board.

I stopped using brokers long ago. They turn their nose up on the penny's and conventiently fail to forget the Centennials, Columbias, Oxfords, Mercury Finances, Cendants, Informixes, etc.etc
