Gary....I'm not complaining....only putting forth a word of caution.

Greenspan made the argument about money supply, debt and interest rates.

OT Gary, that was an excellent post. Right on the money.

Further to your last point, the concern is that there isn't enough political will to buy down the debt. But I think that will come as people realize that "balancing" the budget wasn't enough.

Also, my impression is that Reagan is viewed as being fiscally responsible and Clinton the irresponsible spender. It's funny how the deficits ballooned under Reagan (and Bush) and diminished under Clinton. Reagan's democratic congress sure liked to spend and Clinton's republican congress sure likes to cut, but still it's funny how the public image of the presidents seems to be contradict to the numbers.
