Well James wouldn't you agree the DOJ's intervention in the the telecom industry and cable tv was a relief to consumers ?

In fact government oversight is still required re: the unresolved issues of the regional bells entry into long distance and the so called last mile ,still a non competitive market in most places in the U.S.

I know you would say 'let em fight it out or something'.

But that takes too long and is in the interests of the few.

Consumers benefit and need oversight in essential utilities, telecom, cable tv and now computer operating systems/internet gateways.

Microsoft is not being singled out or persecuted because of its abnormal success and profitability.

It's all a normal progression really--telecom, cable and now internet gateway/ computer operating systems.

Believe me James, when this is all straightened out you will be thankful you live in a system that self corrects and has a government ,in spite of it's many deficiencies, which doesn't allow business to get out of hand, no matter how rewarding it is for the shareholders, channel partners, etc.
