Bob,

Funny. I was just listening to a friend of mine complain that he had bought a scanner for his windows machine, but after he tried to install the nearly hopelessly cryptic driver files he needed it didn't work of course. Then he called the company to find out why and they helped him further damage his system and referred him to Microsoft who further damaged his system and referred him back to the scanner company who completely ruined his system. His computer is now in the 'shop'. Funny word. Of course the scanner company charged him for the good advice they gave him and I think Microsoft charged him too. He was lamenting the fact "How can they sell you products that don't work!".

I had an answer for him: "I know how to fix it!"

he said "how?"

I said "Buy a Mac".

He bought another Wintel machine. Think he's having more problems now.

Wierd lemmings.

Superiority of Windows over Mac OS

Interesting reads. I do detect a bit of bias on the second story. Anyway if preemptive multitasking and memory protection were not so important, why is Apple striving to reach this goal . It is becaue they are at least 5 years behind the Windows architecture.

The reason Windows is doing so well is because they have both consumers and developers behind them. Translation = market share.

I see a drift pattern in Apple's share probably until the end of summer. All the major news stories have been released as far as we know. If Apple can pick up any market share on this Microsoft lawsuit, I think we'll see a share price rise towards the end of the year.
