Glenn, thanks for the 10-q excerpts. Whether it is "proper" to call distribution center operating expenses "marketing" I don't know, but as a non-accountant it seems to me that distribution costs should generally be allocated to cost of sales. But that's not even important IMO. The significance of this, as you note, is the perception that "if they weren't so aggressively spending on marketing to gain market share, they'd be profitable". This "they can shift gears any time they want and turn a profit" argument has been made by many bulls here and elsewhere and the CFO played the same card with her recent "EBITDMA" comments.
