No, Marden; I am also somewhat perplexed at the downdrift lately. I've come up with a few hypothesis such as Y2k costs, Asia, India technology sanctions, GSM/CDMA FUD; the "usual suspects". But nothing concrete; all just guesses. Nothing firm enough to evidence to me that something has changed fundamentally. New contracts still being announced. Talk about entry into the sat. side of the business. All positive stuff. Sure seems odd; coming up on the split. ...Tim

ERICSSON'S BONUS ISSUE 1998

As previously announced, the Annual General Meeting of
Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson approved of a bonus issue 1:1,
whereby the shareholders of the company will receive one new A share
for each old A share and one new B share for each old B share.

Record date for the bonus issue is Wednesday 27 May 1998. For
Ericsson shares listed on Stockholm Stock Exchange and shares listed
on other European stock exchanges the last day for trade including
the right to participate in the bonus issue will be Friday 22 May
1998 and the first day without the right to participate in the bonus
issue will be the first trading day thereafter at the respective
stock exchanges.

For Ericsson shares listed on NASDAQ in the US, the last day for
trade including the right to participate in the bonus issue will be
Thursday 21 May 1998 and the first day without the right to
participate in the bonus issue will be Friday 22 May 1998.

ERICSSON'S 1997 OPERATING EXPENSES

Ericsson announced in their 1998 first quarter report operating
expenses in a new format. R&D and other technical expenses, selling
expenses and administrative expenses were given on separate lines
with corresponding figures for first quarter 1997.
