JMD you have better nerves than I. I could not let a free 10% pass me by on the way to a free 20%. I increased my shares and am happy to do it. If Loral should back down to 25, do you have the name of a good mortgage broker? I'll be backing up a truck to carry my money off to my broker to buy more Loral.

I agree with your statement about Bernie and being above responding to the press. I do however believe that there are personalities within Loral who will impress upon him the need to answer these charges and that he will.

p.s. did you not already sell the surf mobile (woody) for Qualcom?

JMD and all: To better understand the Barron's article does anyone have information about the motivations of these gentlemen. Are they involved with Teledesic or a number of land based cellular providers that could be hurt if these satellite providers are successful?

"Schwartz will not stoop to respond to these absurd allegations, simply because to do so
would lend them a dignity they do not deserve. Thus, while there is clearly a fair amount
of short term pain for shareholders, I'll throw a buck in the pool that says that he will
stand by his remarks at the shareholder meeting with nothing further added."

I beg to differ, JMD. They'll respond, if not today, than within the next two days, even if the thrust is "We've already been over this stuff before, so let me try again." Rule number one of crisis communications (of which this is an example, albeit a small one) is: when there is a demand for information, the vacuum will be filled by someone, if not you, then by your enemies. Failure to respond to these allegations would make me question their public relations savvy.

I'll see your buck and raise you a buck. After all, when the smoke clears, hopefully we can all toast some Dom at a subsequent Loral shareholders meeting. Actually, now that I re-read your post, I'm not sure we're not in more agreement than it looks on the surface.
