<<I beg to differ, JMD. They'll respond, even if the thrust is "We've already been over this stuff before, so let me try again." Rule number one of crisis communications (of which this is an example, albeit a small one) is: when there is a demand for information, the vacuum will be filled by someone, if not you, then by your enemies. Failure to respond to these allegations would make me question their public relations savvy. >>

Diogeron: And therein lies the rub. I think Mike's point is that Bernard S. doesn't give a balsa wood model rocket about PR strategy best practices for 1998 and, therefore, likely won't respond. While I agree with your point about the information vacuum, I would not be at all surprised to see Mr. Schwartz handle this in some unexpected but characteristically effective manner other than what is "classic spin theory". He'll likely assess the best use of his energy and resources and apply them in that direction. We'll all later marvel at how astutue he was, just like we have in the past (I hope). Bottom line is I've trusted the guy with my money and he's impressed me in the past. I don't expect anything different going forward.

Regards. ...Tim

Diogeron, let me clarify. I did not mean the Loral won't respond to this horse patootie (although if they do, my guess it will be about as bare bones as it gets), but rather that Mr. Schwartz will not respond to the character attacks. This is your business, and I don't have a clue about spin control and crisis center PR management: if you say the Madison Avenue boys are going to swing into high gear, so be it.
Let's agree that loser must pay in to the "May The Schwartz Be With You Fund", a little known entity that specializes in exporting targeting telemetry for Chinese ICBM's but only if they are aimed at U.S. locations excluding of course New York which would really put a crimp in Bernard's day. Man, can you see the smoke filled room in Beijing--here's Bernie handing over the guidance system which features a large circle with the international "prohibited slash" and the words "Madison Avenue" emblazoned on it. This is all making sense to me now. Where's my broker, sell, sell . . . .Or should that be, surreal, surreal?
Jeff, yes I did hawk the '55 Merc woody to buy more Q (if memory serves when the Mighty Q's management was being accused of selling shareholders out by way of spoofing them on Korean problems). That move got me more Q @ 46. You're gonna do great doing the same thing with your current LOR purchases. Congratulations! Mike Doyle
