Thanks for providing the link and your observations on Briefing.

I have another question for you and this thread. What role did the weak dollar (against the yen) play in the 91-95 period for the U.S semi-equip industry? And is it a significant or even a minor factor for the industry's outlook now that the Yen is projected to get even weaker (some forecasts to 150 or lower versus 100 or so in 95). I remember the posts which noted that many fabs in SE Asia sell chips in dollars and and buy equipment in dollars so forex wasn't a concern to some. But what if they sell chips in dollars and buy equipment in Yen?...Tokyo Electron, Ibarra (sp?) etc.

How does AMAT or other US companies counter this in their forex operations? Even if you have great equipment and service like AMAT, at what point with a weak Yen does Japanese competition start to cut into orders. Does anyone have an opinion or comment?
