If you use straight line depreciation, the depreciation "expense" for producing those .35u SRAMs will be the same as it was when .35u was state of the art and the fab/line was producing CPUs. Re: "AMD, on the other hand, has to obsolete a lot of their 0.35 micron equipment since they have nothing else to run on it!" AMD isn't obsoleting anything.
