As J.D. Rockefeller was gaining control of the spigot, and gouging "monopoly" profits, the cost of oil products to the consumer dropped 10 fold.

ATT was a monopoly because government regulations dictated it.

LOL...had I not known you were a Mac user you'd have had me thinking you were serious. <g> I know you are. :o)

My first browser was NN and I've had different versions of it and IE...don't recall ever paying for either...nor did I obtain them in an illegal manner. It makes much better business sense giving them to the end user while charging for the commercial use. I haven't paid for RealAudio, Quicktime or Acrobat reader among others ...nor have I obtained them via piracy.

As for AT&T...it was set up as a legal monopoly to begin with as Public Utilities are...this allowed for the construction of the needed infrastructure to benefit the nation as a whole...once that was completed it's usefulness was non productive to the benefit of the consumer...therefore competition was opened up.

It seems that I'm repeating what has been said already, however it's to illustrate the point that no matter if MSFT is stickin it to NSCP or vice versa...that has little to do with the legality of the of the issue....which is the consumer...are they being denied anything due to the business practices of MSFT?

Myself I just don't feel I'm being shafted...at least not by MSFT...the DOJ is another story all together.

It's my hope the consumer is held in the forefront on this issue...not NSCP & MSFT.
