Microsoft Monopoly -Innovation
RE:"They are the leaders in innovation and should be allowed to capitalize on their innovative ideas."

FYI:
There was a running reparte on Microsoft innovation last week on this very board. On the technical side, Explorer did not draw much of a defense from the faithful. However, being first and foremost a marketing company, many of Microsoft's alleged marketing ploys drew mucho kudos.

>>>Just because MSFT has an operating system everyone uses...<<<

I must take exception to your statement here...there are millions of satisfied computer users all over the world who are using operating systems that came from somewhere other than MS...

just setting the facts straight...

Right on, thebeach. If Netscape's product is made obsolete due to Microsoft making their operating system better and incorporating an html viewer, then let Netscape do something else. The browser properly belongs to the OS, and I'm glad Microsoft is enlightened enough to see this.

There is no possible way I as a consumer am harmed by Microsoft not providing me a copy of a rival's product. I've got along FINE without Netscape's products so far, and I am quite sure I will be able to do without them in the future. But just in case Netscape markets a worthwhile product, I'm able to download it with ease -- OR I can buy a PC which has Netscape's browser pre-loaded, like two of the five machines had that Microsoft bought from local computer stores last week.

Cheers,

Embrace and Extend.
