Roger, rein in a bit. Read a bit more carefully. I said it also had Netscape, which we used at work for 2 years, and I CHOSE to go with IE. My computer came with Lotus SmartSuite and I added Microsoft Office, again my choice. I also happen to use both.
My view is that while Microsofts methods of business are not the nicest, I also do not like Sun and Netscape's methods. Are you telling me no one can come up with a viable replacement for Windows? At one time no one thought IBM could be beat. Well guess what, they were. That is my point.

An OEM is free to sell some other OSes. What better consumer OS is better than win 98? There is none.

That's why the OEMs stick with Microsoft... other OSes aren't as good... same for the browser... IE is way better than NSCP.
