Seems to me the kingdom at hand lasted a whale of a time. Been at hand now about 2,000 years.

Oh great Shalom explain how the kingdom came about before the Disciples finished their trip? Or did Jesus utter those words out of context too?

Good morning to you, Shalom my friend in cyberspace.
Jesus also said,
Mathew 12:
"25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

When we are born into this world it is if we were being born into certain death, a world of bright lights, noises, and pain.
Once we become more acustomed to what happened, we see that what we feared was non-existant, as our mother gave us warmth, food and love.
Now, as we enter the twilight of our years, if we know not God, we once again start kicking against the goads and make everyone around us miserable. But a soul with child-like faith in Jesus will not struggle against the inevitable because we know that once we step across that portal, we will be greeted by Christ himself and those loved ones who went before. And we shall not taste death, but experience a new beginning in eternity with our Lord with joy unspeakable and love devine.
Praise the Lord, may he keep you until his return.
James
