Paul, Re: "What are you talking about?

The Merced has a very specific target market(s)."

You beat me to the punch on this one.

Our new expert also said: "When you see the company waking up to the SERIOUS cutbacks
they need to make to get off this 64-bit pie-in-the-sky low volume product they
percieve we all can't live without, "

All Intel has said is that they will have to reduce, by, what 5%, and most of it will be by attrition. In this industry, that's no way a serious cutback. Also, with the industry as hot as it is, especially in Silicon Valley, I'm sure they have a non-zero attrition rate.

Tony

PAUL - That's my point, there's no SERIOUS sub$1000 chip from INTC... and that's why you keep bringing up 1999 technology, I am very familiar with Merced, having attended the Microprocessor Forum in October... and which INTC competitor is doing the best on the Sub$1000 chips... You probably haven't figured it out... but it's IBM....
