SpeedFam is in a market share nose dive right now.
1. AMAT is gaining market share in oxide, SFAM's alleged strength.
2. Ebara is gaining share in Asia in oxide.
3. IPEC is doing well in metal - tungsten for now - and in the future copper.
SFAM is getting beat-up in copper right now. In fact, their machine just can't do it. I think they're in a world of hurt.
AMAT's share gains are basically SFAM's loss. Lam has no market share because as far as I know they haven't shipped a machine yet. Lam's (Ontrak's) story all along has been that they believe they have a superior technology....only time will tell.
